The Beginnings
A few months ago, a group of committed citizens and environmental enthusiasts came together to discuss the situation of beaches in Côte d'Ivoire. We were all shocked by the state of degradation of the beaches and the pollution affecting them. We decided to take matters into our own hands and create a movement to protect these natural spaces so important to our country.
The Birth of an Idea
We started by organizing beach cleanups and awareness actions to inform populations about the importance of environmental protection. We quickly realized that we needed a stronger structure to amplify our impact. This is how the idea of creating a non-governmental organization (NGO) germinated.
The Creation of the Collective
We decided to create a collective of volunteers to bring together people who share our vision and commitment to protecting the beaches of Côte d'Ivoire. The collective was launched and quickly gained momentum, with volunteers from across the country joining us.
The Creation of the NGO
After several months of hard work, we decided to create the NGO Sauvons Nos Plages to give an official structure to our movement. We developed statutes and internal regulations, and we obtained approval from the competent authorities.
